Empowering people in North Lanarkshire
Our Mission Statement
We aim to provide up-to-date information that supports people with a disability and their carers to live as independent a life as possible. We offer support that promotes good mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. We aim to help empower people to have choice and control.
“It’s great that there are people out there who understand what it’s like to be in my situation”
Welcome to North Lanarkshire Disability Forum
North Lanarkshire Disability Forum is a user led organisation, providing up to date information on Disability issues throughout North Lanarkshire.
What We Do
North Lanarkshire Disability Forum (NLDF) was founded in 1991 by people with a disability, for and on behalf of, the people who live in North Lanarkshire. We are a membership organisation, please follow this link for further information. We aim to provide up to date information around disabilities through our website, events, social media and group work. We are represented both at a local and Health and Social Care strategic level. We aim to influence policies concerning disability issues raised in North Lanarkshire.
DISABILITY CONFIDENT COMMITTED
Our Projects
We are involved in various community planning structures which offer a real opportunity to make the voice of people with a disability heard in the planning and development of services within North Lanarkshire.
We are the umbrella organisations for 3 projects – Improving Lives Initiative & Improving the Cancer Journey Lanarkshire, The Little Care Hub (TLC), and Practical Assistance to Promote Health and Wellbeing (PATH).
